Cardboard Garage was born out of a deep passion for trading card games, especially Magic: The Gathering. In today’s digital world, where we spend so many hours in front of screens, there’s something truly special about engaging in a hands-on hobby. Whether you’re building decks, collecting cards, or sitting down to play a game with friends (or even strangers), it’s a fantastic way to unplug and immerse yourself in stunning artwork and exciting gameplay.

I’m Bob, the founder of Cardboard Garage and the Dutch Magic: The Gathering event site Untap.nl. My journey with Magic started in 1995 when my best friend taught me how to play. From 2000 to 2009, other interests took priority, alongside my studies and work. But in 2010, after moving to Amsterdam and playing in a Scars of Mirrodin prerelease at “Spelletjescafé Twee Klaveren,” I was hooked once again. What I love most about TCGs is the sense of community and the joy of gathering together to play. I’m involved in far too many chat groups, and my passion for events led me to create Untap.nl.
